Girls Day
I thought the trip to Scaladale was great!
A well organised trip by the Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs
Associations. I think everyone enjoyed themselves because
no one complained. There was always something to do so it
was never boring. I made some new friends there so I think
it was a good time to meet new people and the activities really
helped me to get to know the people. I hope I can stay in
touch with the people I met there. Some of the girls will
also be in my class in the Nicolson so I'll probably catch up
with them then.
I think Scaladale is a great centre, it is
spacious, clean and it's near Loch Seaforth and the mountains so
there is a whole range of activities you can do there. The
activities we did there were fun and we could make some of the
stuff again at home. I especially enjoyed making the
smoothies because you could put whatever you liked in them and
they tasted great in the end! The sock puppet shows were
really funny and gave us another chance to be creative.
The walk was very good but tiring, for me anyway! It was a
good bit of exercise after staying in all day though! The
treasure hunt made it more interesting while we walked, it was
also also good at making us work as a team.

Pictured above is the group of girls in alphabetical order of their names!
The actual night was good because the leaders
let us stay up late, but not too late in case we were too tired
for the activities the next day. And it worked, none of us
were too tired the next day so we were all happy enough doing
the activities.
I do think that we should have done some of the
chores though because I felt kind of guilty making a mess and
leaving it to other people to clean up but apart from that it
was a fantastic trip and I'd definitely recommend the trip to
anyone!
