Momentum Presentation 2010

Lewis & Harris Youth Clubs Association (LHYCA) held a presentation for the young people who recently completed the Momentum Pre-Driving Programme. 

Kenny Maclennan, Road Safety Officer, congratulated the young people on their achievement.  Kenny spoke on the Governments guidelines to steadily reduce the number of fatalities in road accidents on Britain’s Roads.  He said the Western Isles has seen a steady decline in road fatalities in recent years and he gave credit to the Momentum programme for its contribution.

Chief Inspector Gordon Macleod also congratulated the young people on successfully completing the Momentum course.  He spoke of the importance to educate road users to be more aware of what is happening around them and to concentrate on the roads.  He wished the Momentum Programme continued success in the future.

Fallon Macarthur, Chairperson of LHYCA, thanked the Police, CNES Road Safety Department and the Community Safety Partnership for their input to the course, as well as the young people for their commitment and attendance.
