LOLLY POP OUTINGS 2007

The lolly pop stand has been out on tour again this year at the Point, Tong, Lochs Show and the Carnival.  As you can see from the pictures young and old contributed to raising over £500.00.  This money will go towards a Ski Trip to Aviemore in February 2008.

LOCHS AGRICULTURAL SHOW - 22nd July 2006

The Lochs show was on the 22nd July 2006 and the lolly pop game was on another outing.

Alyson is seen here making sure the lolly pops are of good quality before the start and the wee fellow says, "Never mind the car that was being raffled, I've won a football and I get a lolly!".  A total of £122.50 was raised.

TONG HIGHLAND GAMES - 15th July 2006

The Tong Highland Games were held on the 15th of July 2006.  The day was full of glorious sunshine & a very large crowd!!  Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs Association had a stall at the games for fundraising, as you can see we had the lolly pop game - where everyone is a winner! And the Treasure Map where the prize was a lovely digital camera donated by the Co-op, the lucky winner was Jay Macphee from Point.  A very big thanks goes to everyone that helped out, a massive £290.00 was raised!

DUCK RACE - 10th June 2006

The duck race was held on the Glen River to raise funds for the Ski Trip.  After a slow start the 400 ducks swam through under the bridge, before hurtling down the home straight to the dam.  The winner was duck 142 - Charlotte Campbell, 2nd was duck 231 - Kay Maclean and in 3rd place was duck 30 - Gordon Maciver.  Thanks to Woolworths and Boots the Chemist for donating prizes.   All the ducks were recovered and thankfully no one fell in, although Fallon did get his wellies a wee bit wet!

STORNOWAY HALF MARATHON - 27th May 2006

Well Done to runners 127 Shona Paton and 128 Ruth Macaskill on finishing the Half Marathon in 2 hours 20 minutes!!  The girls were raising money through sponsors for the group going to Poland on a youth exchange.  Watch this space for the total amount raised!!!
